Roots

Trees, bark, mist, bluebells and the human form sit together here.

Nothing feels separate. The figure belongs among the roots, not above them. These works hold the feeling of origin, grounding and the natural world that carries us, even when we forget we are part of it.

A lone tree with a wind-swept canopy standing on a pale outcrop of sandy rock, scrub and dry grasses at its base, against a deep blue sky banded with cloud.
